BACKGROUND: Hang-gliding and parasailing are very popular in Southern California and San Diego has an excellent gliderport. It is great fun to watch the gliders walk off the edge of the cliff and soar in the updrafts. The view of the beach is also great from this vantage point.
TERRAIN: Easy
DIRECTIONS: Take Genessee Avenue exit off I-5 and proceed west. Get in the leftmost lane and turn left on Torrey Pines Road. Turn Right on Torrey Pines Scenic Drive and continue to gliderport. Park and walk toward gliderport building.
CLUES: Walk to curved concrete path on south side of gliderport building. Under the third jade and agave bush on the left you will find the Gliderport Microbox.
