Hearne Texas was once known as the 'Crossroads of Texas'. It grew into a big railroad town with the crossing of two rail systems - the Missouri Pacific and the Southern Pacific in the early to mid 1900s. As the railroads declined, the town has become just another small Texas town along the way between Bryan/College Station and Waco. The train depot is currently under renovation to bring it back by the historical society. Since the depot is not technically available to place the box near, the box is located near a famous Hearne native.

To find the box - going north on Highway 6 out of Bryan, look for the sign for Camp Arrowmoon. Turn down that road - 2549 (a.k.a.Camp Arrowmoon Rd.). Continue on this road until you come to a stop sign with a church at the corner - about 6 miles. Continue straight for another 1.5 miles until you see the sign for Pin Oak Rd. Turn right. Just down on the left is a small cemetary - Hammond Colony. Park and go into the cemetary. Look for the gravestone of Rosie Lee Moore who died Feb 12 1967 - be sure to read it. Just to the right of her stone is a tree. The microbox will at the base of the tree under a rock. Be sure to re-cover well! Also, as this box is a little remote, we would REALLY appreciate an update if you find it: teamking@entouch.net and/or log your find on Atlas Quest and we will be notified. Thanks!
