Just looked---and its gone 7/12/10

This is a quick drive by (3 minutes to box?), but it is a great view of the Saugatuck Reservoir! It is on land only recently bought by the State of Connecticut.

This box is in the Centennial Watershed State Forest (funny name for such a small place!).

Directions: take route 53 north from Weston, you will cross a bridge at the top of the reservoir. Route 53 will then be a left turn, go straight. After another few seconds on this road (Newtown Turnpike) the Forest is on the right.

From the points north: take 53 south. When you intersect witj route 107 you are close. Route 53 will now curve a bit, when you get to a stop sign (with a bridge to the right) take the left. After another few seconds on this road (Newtown Turnpike) the Forest is on the right.

These trails are very new and fairly flat, but not paved. Take the right trail down to the observation deck. I love this view. Bring a seat and hang out for the day!

Oh, yes, and the box is underneath the south east corner of the observation deck. In other words, go around the left side of the deck looking at the water. its under the corner closest to the shore. Please rehide well.

Hand carved stamp. ***There are actually two stamps in this box (they go together). Use the highlighter pen to paint the larger stamp. You might want to stamp twice. Use your own ink to stamp the smaller one (works better with two colors). Any confusion see the stamp in the log book.
