This trail has gone into disrepair since I first placed the box. I have decided to retire this box and hopefully soon the trail will get some much needed work.

Last Checked 06/19/09 - Doing well.
This box is located on one of York's Land Trust Properties. The trail is called Hilton-Winn King's Grant. It is on one of those roads that has many names depending on which direction you are coming from. From the York's it can be Ogunquit Road (off of North Village Road) or from South Berwick it is called Berwick Road. You will find the trail head just over the South Berwick boarder into Cape Neddick. It is hard to spot. It is a gravel parking area circled by cut logs. There is a small kiosk (which consists of a piece of plywood with a paper taped to it) describing the trail.

Begin your walk by this kiosk. Look to your left. If it is the right time of year you will see lady slippers. Begin walking over the boardwalks. You will travel over 4 different boardwalks before reaching your destination. After the fourth boardwalk look for a rather large rock near the trail on your right. Walk the few steps into the woods at this rock. Find the dead pine near the rock and put this at your left shoulder. With the tree at 9 o'clock head in the direction of 2 o'clock (toward the water). You should be walking over another rock half burried in the ground. Move aside one of the large flat rocks to find your Woodland Ballerina.

Since I have last checked this box, a trail has been created up the hill to over look the water right near the location of this box. There are a lot of trees that have recently been cut down right there. The last person to hid this box put it behind a rock that doesn't look like it can move but it does. Good luck.
