This box is placed at Ney Cemetery in Ney, Ohio. State Route 15 runs through Ney and will turn off to the North towards the cemetery. Also, US 249 dead ends in the spot SR 15 turns. Here are a couple suggestions on how to get to this box.
From Defiance, Take US 15 North 14 miles to the town of Ney. Drive through Ney and make the turn on SR 15 to the North/right. You will then turn almost immediately to the right onto Doud Road. You will see the Cemetery on your left and you will need to turn into the second drive on your left.
From Bryan, Take US 15 south 4-5 miles to Ney. You will see the cemetery off to your left as you slow down for the STOP ahead. You will turn left onto Doud Road and turn left into the second drive on your left.
Clues:
Be sure to pull off into the grass a little. You will then walk the tree line that follows the road and find the third tree on your left. This box is about 5.5 feet off the ground. If you are 5’ 4” or shorter, you can use the trunk/root on the cemetery side of the tree as a small step to boost you up a bit. (Caution: can be slippery when wet.) You can find the plane under the debris from a fallen tree. Be sure to put the debris back in front of the plane so the cargo is well hidden.
