This new letterbox is the second in a new series we are planting. It is called Herb the Martyr! The stamp is a nature stamp but that's all I am saying. It is hand carved which will be obvious when you find it.
Directions: DRive to Portal, AZ. This is in itself an adventure! Portal is a tiny hamlet off of Route 80 which runs south from Rte. 10 right after 10 crosses the state line into New Mexico. Watch for the signs to Portal after about 28 miles. Drive up into the beautiful Cave Creek Canyon, past the Portal General Store (you might want to stop for a cold drink or a taco or two)
Keep up the canyon till you see a sign suggesting that you might find Herb the Martyr. Exactly two miles from the sign you will find the GATES TO HERB MARTYR. Stand facing the gates with the road behind you {SE)Do you see an anvil and a meteorite? The meteorite hides the letterbox!! This is the wild, you know so watch out for critters.
