It is a yearly outing at Lowden State Park. For the past four years a huge group of friends camp and canoe to celebrate a good friend of mine birthday. It is always a great time had by all. On the Saturday of the camping weekend we go into Oregon and down the Rock River to Castle Rock State Park. You can always count on at least one canoe tipping over and this year was no exception.
I would suggest parking in the main parking area at Lowden State Park and walking over to the White Oak Camping area. As you enter the camping area and head to the toilets. Behind them you will see a trail. Head straight into the woods. Soon you will be able to see the road on your right. Keep traveling till you take a sharp left. You will see two 1/2 trees. Go to the second and turn left and find three down trees. Between the down trees you will find the stamp "Life is Good" in the cluches of a tree bush. Stamp in and rehide. There are three other boxes in this park so enjoy the day.
