Tedesco Trail Walk, Watertown
Located near Crestbrook Golf Course

Directions:
From Rt 8 take exit 37 and follow Rt 262 West towards Watertown. At the Buckingham St. light, turn right continuing on Rt 262. At the junction of Rt 6 and Rt 262, continue straight onto Fern Hill Rd. At the 4 way stop, continue straight for approximately 1/10 mile until you see a gate on your right, park here.

Once again this is a relatively short hike, maybe about a mile total, but lots of little things to look at along the way.

Clues:
Follow the red blazes down the wide trail. Continue on the main trail past the bubbling brook bridge on your right (not so talkative during the summer). At approximately 2/10 mile you will be at a crossroads. Follow the Loop Trail to the left, continuing to follow the red blazes. Pass the picnic area. You will notice many of the white Land Trust of Watertown signs. The local Boy Scout Troop also keeps up this area. There are little signs telling you what trees and plants you are looking at along the way. You will soon come up to an old stone wall that the path takes you through, take a reading of approximately 330 degrees headding toward a very large uprooted tree. Stand at the base of the tree and take a reading of 330 degrees and follow approximately 90 paces. Look to your right until you see the corner of an old stonewall with a large dead tree behind it. You will also begin to see the obstacle course and archery range for camp Mataucha, so please be discrete and careful! Look under a rock in the corner of the stonewall to seek your sweet surprise. Walk back to the tree and continue following the red blazes to complete your loop. You will soon be back at the crossroads to lead you back to your vehicle.

Happy Treasure Hunting
