Description:Less than 1/4 mile round trip over generally level gravel trail and some sidewalk. Strollers will probably do okay, but not wheelchairs. Children shouldn't have any trouble and may enjoy the plants and your furry friend is welcome on leash, but please be responsible and clean up after your pet.

Directions: In north Colorado Springs, take exit 149 Woodmen Road headed east to Union Boulevard. Turn right (south) onto Union Blvd. Get into the left hand lane. Turn left onto Deliverance Drive. Park along the curb.

Clues: The Pali word "metta" means loving kindness, an unconditional love and empathy that accepts all living things. Metta Bhavana is a meditation which encourages us to give metta to ourselves so we are more able to bestow it upon others. Extracted from this meditation:
May all creatures be free. May all creatures be peaceful. May all creatures be happy. May all creatures wake to the light of their true nature. May all creatures be free.

Head west on the sidewalk along Deliverance Dr. back toward Union Blvd. At Union Blvd., go north on the sidewalk until you come to a gravel trail headed east. Shortly after you turn onto the trail, you will see raised planted beds on both sides of the trail. At the end of the last bed, on the north side, is a ponderosa pine. Step over the bed to the small trail behind it and beside the pine. About 10 paces west along the back of the bed, look under a large red stone to find metta. Continue along the trail for a nice walk along Cottonwood Creek or stand around and enjoy the plantings. This is a busy trail, especially during nice weather. Please, please, please be subtle when accessing the box and rehide it very well beneath the stones.

There is an inkpad in the box, but no pen. Be careful among the stones along the side of the creek-- I did not encounter any sticky plants, but did spot some small slithery creatures whose intentions I wouldn't know or care to gamble with.
