This box was placed on Father's Day of 2007. It is our first box with a hand carved stamp. We didn't place the box as far down the trail as we originally intended because we forgot to bring with us our backpack that our 2 year old daughter gets carried in. She is always there to letterbox.
Here are the directions: Find the boat public boat launch near where the La Platte river enter's Shelburne Bay of Lake Champlain. Don't park in the boat launch parking, but the park parkinglot just up the road. Go all the way to the end of the parkinging lot and start out on the trail that goes along the edge of the bay. Follow the path until there is a clearing and some large flat rocks where you can enjoy the view. Continue down the path to the second clearing. When you get there, look inland and you will find a less defined trail that goes into the woods. As soon as you start out on that trail you will see a very large downed tree. Start at the root system and work you way up to where the fallen tree intersects with other fallen trees. You will find the stash there under the tree and covered by a few sticks.
