As noted earlier, I have decided to list each of my monthly boxes as a separate box, rather than a series, so that those who wish can log them separately.
Thank you to all of those who let me know that my pouch was drowning last month. I have made a new pouch, which I planted this month's stamp in! Last month's logbook is drying out now...Which reminds me, while there is ink in the box, I forgot to replace the pen, so please bring your own! Perhaps I have learned that the lifetime of a pouch in a tree with relatively little covering is about 6 months. Or maybe I should invest in brand name freezer bags in the near future! In any event, please try very hard to make sure the pouch is zipped :-)
This month we wish you a Happy Halloween! As the weather gets cooler, I decided it was safe to leave a "treat" for the first finder... This stamp will be in place through the month of October.
Directions:
The West End Cemetary (that's how it's spelled in the sign!) in Chester is on Cedar Lake Rd., just off Route 148, overlooking Cedar Lake. Just past the cemetery is a parking place--if it’s available, park there!
At the opening in the wall next to the parking place, stand on the flat rock and take a bearing of 163° to the far side. If you don’t happen to have a compass, walk along the lake side of the cemetery until you see Gertrude Jagger. Just after that, look for a split tree. While I said the box was child friendly, at least one person in the group must be at least 5'1"--the box (actually a camo pouch) was placed up in the tree by me, and I may have overstretched a bit!
Happy Halloween!
