1/17/12 Just adopted this box form the original owner Rubaduc.
From route 32 in South Windham, turn onto Machine Shop Hill Road. Go straight through the first stop sign and then make a left immediately after the fire department onto Pigeon Swamp Road. Follow this to the end and you will see a parking area with a sign stating it is Pigeon Swamp Preserve. Park here.
Dogs are allowed, even off-leash, as long as they are under their owner's voice control.
And my personal favorites----No ATV’s and NO HUNTING.
From the parking lot take the trail less used (westerly?) Going downhill until you turn left at the arrow. Watch for the stonewall, passing through it and then count 6 blazes (or 72 steps) and take a reading of 250 degrees. Look in the center of a many trunked (8 or9 ) tree a bit off trail.
This is almost a driveby but as far as the Duc could hobble today.
