*** This box is missing... I will try to replace it and put an update here***

This letterbox is located on the Paint Creek Trail. Park in the lot at the NW corner of Kern Road and Clarkston Road in Orion Township. Some of these trails are quite small and can get a little overgrown. Watch out for thorns and pickers in the trail.

Head west up the trail and admire the work of Carpenter and Rudd. Continue beyond the sign to where you walk over the water. At a break in the fence take the stairs down to shore. Continue across a famous Drifters song. At the end, you will see a small trail to the west. Follow this trail beyond the Urban Art building. Keep going west against the flow of the river. Cross over a large timber in the trail. At the next intersection, head north until this trail meets another. Turn left towards the river and continue until you find the Graffiti Basin.

Follow the trail closest to the river past yet another fallen timber in the trail. As you continue down the trail, look towards the river for a large tree of three about 6 paces off the trail to the left. The sun has set on the dryer side of the first fallen trunk that you come too.

To return... find the closest trail that heads north back to the main trail. Head east on the main trail to get back to the main parking lot.

Please re-hide this box well. As you can see this is a busy area with the “artists.” If you are not opposed to climbing, the Graffiti Basin is a wonderful place to cool off on a hot day!
