This is an official Forest Preserve District of DuPage County letterbox.
***This letterbox can only be found on weekends when Greene Valley's Scenic Overlook is open to the public from May through October from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.***
When you find the letterbox, use your stamp to mark the Forest Preserve District notebook, or simply write your name. Then, mark your own notebook with the Forest Preserve District stamp. Please make sure to
securely close the letterbox before you return it to its hiding place.
Parking Top of overlook (Use entrance on Greene Road
south of 79th Street.)
Time 10 to 20 minutes

Thank you for visiting the beautiful scenic overlook at Greene Valley Forest
Preserve. If you bring your dog on your explorations, please remember that
you need to keep it on a leash at all times.
While you’re here, make sure to enjoy all of the overlook amenities. Get a
bird’s-eye view of DuPage County with the spotting scope or a look up —
or down! — at resident and migrating birds. Stop by the information table,
and ask one of the District’s knowledgeable staff members about more to
do and see at Greene Valley and about other letterboxes hidden in DuPage
County forest preserves.
Now on to your letterbox adventure! Walk back across the gravel parking
lot. Because cars are arriving at the overlook all the time, try to stay on the
grass. There will be a grass path to lead you to new heights. Keep moving to
the far end of the mowed glider area. As a reward for your journey, you will
get a stake.
