From the West , one of the ways to Ramsey's Farm is to cross over Smith's Bridge West to East, then immediately turn south/right and follow the road past Peter's Rock before it turns to the left. There is a trail that continues to the south along the same trajectory to the east of the Brandywine. Park in the nearby parking lot but be very careful walking down the road to the trailhead. Also exercise caution on the trail, which is very popular with shredding mountain bikers and, from the looks of things, equestrians.

At the fork, follow the wide trail to the left of the soybeans. You will be walking with river bottom farmland to your right, and some interesting rock formations to your left. Eventually, you will arrive at a bridge. (Just before the bridge, look to the right and you may be able to see the Granogue tower.) Cross the bridge and continue. In about 100 yards, you will come to a crossroads of sorts. Turn left and head into the woods. The trail very quickly bends to the left to follow a contour to the right of a valley. The trail will bend to the right. After crossing a tree that has fallen across the trail (there should be a metal post to your left), look to the right for a large beech. Behind the beech is a hollow, which I thought made this tree too conspicuous and potential habitat. Up the hill a few feet is a smaller beech. Look under SPOR.

This stamp was inspired by an impromptu "costume" actually worn by one of us.

Please snap all four corners shut (listen for the snapping sound) and recover well.
