Originally planted by WimpyGirls and adopted in March 2008 by HLRG Wood Thrush. We recommend you not attempt these boxes at this time. Only #2 exists at this point and it is in an extremely overgrown area where the landscape has changed (the clues do not lead you to the box). We hope to retire or rehab this series in fall 2008.

Buddy Attick Regional Park. On Crescent Lane off of Kenilworth.
Easy Trail - about 2 1/2 miles

BOXES 1,3 & 4 ARE MISSING - Only BOX 2 STILL ACTIVE AS OF 11/10/06

Box 1-

From the parking lot, take the gravel path to the lake & follow it to the left. After passing the pavillions & grills you will see a manhole cover and 2 carved gray trees on the right. From the second graffiti tree, count 50 steps & look for the small stump to the left of the path. Past the stump & to the right you will see a weathered fallen tree lying on the ground. Go to the far end of that log to find some autumn color.

Box 2 -

Continue on the path until you come to an intersection; take the unpaved path straight ahead. Cross a large fallen tree & stay on the path until you reach a long, skinny dead tree also lying across the path. Follow that tree to it's base and look ahead to the very large, uprooted tree nearby. Look under that tree where the trunk first splits to find a winter companion.

Box 3 -

Return to the crossroads & hang a left across the bridge. (The first path to the right leads to a peninsula with benches at the end for wimpy girls to have a rest & enjoy the view) After the bridge, go right on the gravel path. You will come to a treehouse on the left; just before it to the left of the path is a hollow stump which holds a spring surprise.

Box 4 -

Continue on the path (stay right at the fork, following the lake shore). When you come out of the woods, you will run into George Stern to the right. From the 2-in-1 by George, count 50 steps back the way you came. You will see a large gnarly root mass behind the holly tree on the right. Forage through the underbrush to the tree trunk and look in the crack at the back for a long-awaited summer.
