This letterbox was adopted by Betsy @ the Summit from Amy and Jay. It is located along Eagle Scout Nature Trail in Plainville, MA. The trail is a loop of about one mile. This area has a myriad of trails and several other letterboxes.

DIRECTIONS:
Take 495 to Exit 14B, Route 1 South. Follow Route 1 South past the 152/Taunton Street intersection - Tropical Tree is on the left. Route 1 is level for awhile, and then starts uphill. At this point you will come to a cross street. Go right on this George Street. You will pass some houses, a convent on your left, the Plainville Athletic League Fields on your right, and then a small pond on your left. Immediately after the small pond, there will be a dirt parking lot. The parking lot is ringed with boulders and there is a sign on the left side of the lot that says “EAGLE SCOUT NATURE TRAIL.”

CLUES:
Start at the Nature Trail sign. Go up the stairs to the trail. The trail is marked with white blazes and arrows on trees and with numbered posts (#1-20). At post #1, there is a wooden bridge. To stay on the trail, DO NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE. The trail just passes right by it. (Of course, you may cross and explore, just come back to this side before you continue).

When you get to post #10, there will be a wooden bridge. Cross the bridge and soon start up a hill. Almost immediately, there will be a three trunked tree on the right side of the path. There is a root of this tree that is exposed and forms a “tree cave”. The Pink Flower Letterbox is here, well-hidden (hopefully!) by some stones. Stamp in and re-hide well, please, because it is so close to the trail. Thanks!
