Note: This Clue has been revised 5/26/2017 and the letterbox has been
re-hidden in a safer place.

This letterbox was planted while on vacation to the beautiful Niagara Falls.

While strolling through Queen Victoria Park, we enjoyed the many different views of the Falls, learned a little history of Niagara and stopped to smell the flowers. We saw this statue of King George VI. The statue was created by noted Canadian sculptor, Elizabeth Wyn Woods. It took her eight years to complete the work. The statue was installed in Victoria Park by the Niagara Parks Commission on Dominion Day, July 1, 1963.

To find this box, you will need to locate the statue dedicated to Charles Daley who was once Chairman of The Niagara Parks Commission. King George VI has a fantastic view of the Falls. Behind King George you will see a small hedge wall. Walk around so that the hedge is between you and King George. Turn around with your back facing his. You will see the beautiful rose garden behind the statue. In front of you, you will see a trellis to your right and to your left. Go under the left trellis to enter the garden and follow the path to the third trellis (the one you go under counts a number one). Behind the third trellis, you will find a tree located between this trellis and a trellis fence. What you seek is in the middle of the tree's trunks covered with leaves.

This is a very busy place. I noticed people taking pictures with this statue and walking in the garden, so be very discreet when retrieving and replanting the box.

The distance you will have to walk will depend on where you park. If you stay at one of the many hotels located nearby, this box is within easy walking distance.

Have Fun

Note: There is no log book in this box. I only left a stamp as I would not be able to maintain a log book.
