Distance to Letterbox: about 1/4 mile round trip
Since San Saba claims to be the "Pecan Capital of the World", thought I would add one more nut. Risen park has nice paved walking paths, and seems to be a great little park to explore.
Directions:
From downtown, go east on Hwy 190. Turn left at sign for Risen park and go under train tracks. Curve left and go to end an park by arch for "San Saba River Nature Trail".
To the Letterbox:
Go to that arch, then walk on pathway. Pass viewing area on right. At junction, go right. Go right at downward steps, stopping on the flat area after the last step (before bridge). Look right where the rails open. Box is in corner of walls on outside of rails, under a rock.
Hike length: 0.5 miles
