Terrain Difficulty: Easy (steep slope, 1 mile RT)
Recommended Ink: red
Status: alive
The Spicewood Valley Trail is near the Upper Bull Creek Trail, but instead of being upper-class this bull has more spice.
Directions:
From Hwy 183 go south on Spicewood Springs Rd for 1.8 miles, turn right onto Scotland Well Dr for 0.8 mile, then turn right on Westerkirk Dr for 0.4 mile and park at Mountain View Park on left.
Clues:
Walk east on sidewalk past pavilion and go left at jct, curving right between baseball field and tennis courts, to another jct where you bear left to Callanish Park Dr. Cross road and go right 20 steps to unmarked trail between two houses that leads to Spicewood Valley Trail. Descend down to T-jct at Spicewood Valley Trail and go left to rock wall on left with view of creek on right and seasonal waterfall. Find the tree on right that reaches over the trail and go left, scrambling up the rocks about 10 yards to medium tree with cedar stump at back. LB is within right side of stump under rocks.
Hike length: 1 mile
