Sea Pines area on Hilton Head Island, SC. There is a $9 fee to enter the entire area, but that fee gives you access to all the activities and things to do in the area. There is no separate fee to visit the Baynard Ruins.
Drive to the Baynard Ruins in Sea Pines. Go up the very short path. On the left is the main house ruins. On the right is the domestic slave quarters ruins. Walk toward and pass the domestic slave quarters ruins. Just past the domestic slave quarters you will see a trail off the main area on the left. From the start of this trail, look to the slight left to see a big 3 trunked tree about 25 steps away, which is actually a 2 truck tree and a single tree. Box is behind this grouping of trees.
