We were on the hunt for places to plant three boxes in our next three States to add to out plant list. We have done three boxes at a Tri-State marker before and thought that would be cool to do again. We found that the three States that we were about to plant in do have a marker near Markleysburg, PA. We did some more research and found a couple of roads that looked like they might work. We drove to the best looking of the two and by the time we got close to the marker it seemed we were in somebodies driveway. We stopped and talked to the home owner and he was pleasant enough to let us walk over to the marker and he told us that we would not have been able to drive any closer from any other way and we did not see any good parking at the other locations that you might have been able to walk from. So plan “B” was put into action, three new locations, one plant in each of the States.
So back into the town of Markleysburg PA and we found a very nice cemetery to plant in. Just West of downtown Markleysburg PA. Thomas Cemetery is on RT281 enter and take the driveway around to the right (it is a loop road) after you crest the hill the road takes its second left. Stop just after that and look for a cluster of four cedars, across from Fike and Hileman, your looking in the back left cedar. You will find some of the Fisher family near by. Here you will find “Fish Bait” in the tree.
