Donkey Beach Trail
(22.1165943, -159.3004234)
Park in the Donkey Beach lot with a bathroom and head through the “burro” near where you drove in. The path is called “Ka Ala Hele Makalae” which means “the path that goes by the coast.”
Moana of Motunui
Cross the private road to the second “burro” and then to bike/hill sign on south. Count 62 concrete lines in the trail to rocks on the south side. Look under small rocks and debris
Or
From falling rocks sign go back the way you came 22 concrete lines to rocks on south side. Look under small rocks and debris
Maui's Magical Fishhook
Take a right at the wide bike trail/crossroad and look for a way down to Donkey Beach. There are a couple of ways but when you get down to the sand look for an 8-foot wood beam near the shrubbery and between trails down. Under lava rocks and debris is what you seek, about 1 1/2 feet from the right end of the beam.
*As always please rehide under debris and make sure the box is not visible. I do not live on the island and will not be returning for several years.
Hike length: 1-2 miles
