there are many graveyards in the united states that have fallen into disrepair and neglect. some of these graveyards have only one lone soul and others have many graves. there is an old russian proverb that says "to be remembered in death is to have truly lived". this is my way of remembering.

weare has somewhat of a strange history of graveyards. most of the older, and even the majority of the newer, graveyards are actually 2 or more graveyards combined but separate. the reason for this is the hopkinton-everett lakes flood risk management project. many times since the settlement of the area first began the merrimack river basin would flood causing loss of homes, lives and businesses in south and central new hampshire as well as bordering massachuttes towns. in 1959 construction of the everett dam was started and many graveyards were relocated. since most of these graveyards were incorporated into newer cemeteries i consider them forgotten.

forgotten graveyard #12 - collins
find your way to 392 reservoir drive
find aunt mary.
facing her take a compass reading of 100º to the tree in the middle of the wall.
look between this tree and the stone wall.

forgotten graveyard #13 - waterman
find george waterman.
if you look closely you can see where this section of the graveyard was blocked off to designate a separate section. over time the fence has disappeared but if you are observant you can trace out where the 3 sections are.
after finding george waterman take a compass reading of 145º.
look between the 2 trees.

forgotten graveyard #14 - brown
now find lizzie brown.
take a compass reading of 360º to a curved tree.
once there continue 9 more steps.
look in back of what used to be a twin, alas, one of them is broken.
