Brown, orange, or yellow ink

One of the many things the U.P. is known for is the pasty! These are a meal folded into a pastry crust and baked. They usually consist of meat, potatoes, and other root vegetables. Some people enjoy them plain. Others prefer gravy or ketchup - and there’s a big debate on that subject. Pasties were made for the Cornish miners and have remained a popular staple of the area.

Lawry’s Pasty Shop in Marquette is a great choice if you’d like to try one. To find the letterbox, make your way to the cemetery a couple miles away located on 7th street, across from the Sandy Knoll Elementary School.
