Obviously, Tyler State Park has a Ghost issue! The Spirit of one IRA Boxer has haunted Texas for years, but has now gone to far. He is now killing endangered Bears in Tyler State Park. First claiming he was killed by a Beer (no proof), then offering cinnamon rolls in order to lure the babies of the species into his trap. He has been chasing "Baby" Bears for years, and usually gets more active about the annual TALE Event. What are we to do about this? "Who you goanna call"......GHOST BUSTERS!!!! Yep, the crew of Ghost Busters has been called in to this year's TALE to rid you all of the GHOST of IRA Boxer. Why would they do it, because "Bustin makes them feel good"! So while your at the park this weekend, pay them a visit, and thank them for their noble expedition to vaporized this Ghost forever!!!
Directions:
Drive north of Tyler on Hwy 14, then turn left into park. Pay fee, get map, then drive to first turn to left. Go left and pass multiple camping areas and eventually Southlake Day area. Keep going straight until 4-way intersection. Turn right into parking area and park.
To the Letterbox:
Walk back to the main road, then across toward Area 4. Stop at trail sign on your left. Go left on that trail until 3-way intersection at a rock in trail. Take the right fork of the "EZ" trail and count 105 steps. You should be at a sharp curve to the right. Go left off trail for 10 yards to the largest pine tree. Box is at back base under a rock.
