The Clue Crew and Merry Moose are spreading some joy, during difficult times, by planting letterboxes.
Hope you’re able to get outside and enjoy them! :)
These letterboxes are planted at the Evelyn H & Albert D, Sr. Morse Preserve, on the Mary Jane Morse Greenwood Trail.
This is a helpful map:

Locate the green gate and park along Alton Mountain Road. Please do not block the green gate.
There is no parking lot here and there is no sign indicating that this is the Mary Jane Morse Greenwood Trail.
This old road is still used by the Society for the Protection of NH Forests and there was a crew working on maintenance of the trails when we were hiking out there. The views are absolutely amazing at the top!
And the foliage is just gorgeous in Autumn.

Walk around the green gate and begin your ascent up the mountain trail road.
You’ll be walking for a little while.
You may want to read the Letterbox Clues for “Pine Mountain” as there are a couple additional letterboxes along this same trail.
As the trail curves to the right and enters into the forest, take some time to look behind you and enjoy the beautiful view.
Continue on for a bit.
You are looking for a pine tree on the left of the trail.
This pine tree has a single trunk and branches into at least four big branches as it goes up.
(If you got to the trail intersection, you walked past it.)
Look behind and at the base of the pine for a camouflaged letterbox pouch.
After stamping in, please place back exactly where you found it and cover it well.
The stamp and logbook always stay together.

If you continue on up the mountain, the views at the peak are beautiful!
There is a sign at the top indicating all of the peaks and landscape that you’re looking at.
Hike back down the way you came up to get back to your vehicle.
Hope you enjoyed the adventure. :)

Hike length: 1-2 miles
