UNRAVEL Two – Yarny

UNRAVEL Two is a video game that is meant to be played co-operatively by two players. This game requires co-operation throughout the gameplay but can also be managed by one player. Each player plays the game as a cute character made of yarn called a Yarny. The two Yarnies are joined together by a strand of yarn and travel together on an adventure facing all sorts of challenges in different environments, all beautifully illustrated. There is a background story that is a bit dark, though it is shadowy and not clear to see. It’s a shared gaming experience that we really enjoyed, especially working together to get through many of the game’s areas.

Clues to UNRAVEL Two -Yarny:

The Unravel Two - Yarny letterbox can be found at the Canfield Meadow Woods Nature Preserve, the link below will provide you with directions and a map. There is also a link for a CT Insider article from 2021 about the Preserve and the trails. This Preserve has trailheads in Deep River and Essex.

These clues lead you to the letterbox from the Dennison Road trailhead parking lot in Essex. The parking lot is near house #59. Maps are provided in the map box at the trailhead sign, or you can print one from the website.

CLUES:
From the parking area start the walk on the Canfield Trail (blue trail) on the left side of the trailhead sign, follow this trail to the Castle Rock Trail (orange trail) on the left. The orange trail is a short loop trail. At the start of the orange trail, you will cross over a stream on a little bridge where you will turn right to follow the orange trail loop counter-clockwise. Continue on orange until you pass by a spot with a stone wall on both sides of the trail. The trail also turns to the left and goes uphill at this point. Once you pass the stone wall look to the stone wall on the left side of the trail. The Yarny is hidden at the base of the stone wall, count about 5 large base stones from the trail, Yarny is behind a trap door (made using two loose rocks that were found nearby). See photo.

After returning the box to its hiding spot you can continue on the orange loop trail which will turn to the left going past the Broken Rocks and then downhill back to the blue trail and the parking lot.
