There is a blue and white Victorian house on Olive Boulevard in Burbank that you have likely passed countless times. It sits on N Lomita Street and Olive Blvd. It is here that you’ll start your quest for our Letter Box.

The Gordon R Howard Museum Complex from the Burbank Historical Society is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4pm. Take a look inside if you find it open when you are there. Either way look for an old Stage Coach and make your way to the back alley behind the Museum.

This park has a lot of outdoor space to offer the neighbors including a playground and pickleball courts. You are on a quest though to find a diamond that is not a Gem. There may be more than one – keep your eyes peeled for an area of recognition and a quote from a historic baseball player that wore the number 42 on his jersey. He was he first African American to play Major League Baseball (April 15, 1947). He played in six World Series and contributed to the Dodgers’ 1955 World Series Championship. In 1977, Major League Baseball retired his uniform #42 across ALL major league teams. He was the first professional athlete in ANY sport to be so honored.

Find his famous quote and use it to help you with your final clue. First number indicates the word, the second the letter in that word. Good luck.

Please be careful to return it to the same spot (with leaves for cover), without being caught by unknowing muggles.

This stamp was hand carved by David Lans specifically for this Letter Box. Special thanks to Burbank Girl Scout Troop 70481 for inspiration.
