This is the first box planted at Christy Woods, an environmental education center and field station at Ball State University. It is located on Riverside Avenue, just West of Tillotson Road in Muncie. Open hours are: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Sundays from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (April 1 - October 31). When you arrive at Christy Woods, follow the main gravel road towards the Prairie in the center of the woods. (There is a map right at the entrance or print it out from the website above). Enjoy a leisurely walk through the tall grasses and wonderful wildflowers - depending on the season you are there - don't forget to take all the paths and to stop and see the small wetlands area for a chance frog or lily show. When you have had your fill (is that possible?) of the prairie - look for a place you can get water (hint - it is red). Then you can take a rest in the shade or look around behind the seat on the east side and you will find the "Prairie Flowers" Letterbox.
