Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve
trail difficulty: easy to moderate
length of loop: 1.7 miles

Learn about and see a 10 million-year-old volcano! It’s educational ---and beautiful!

(Clever lettterboxers will combine this hunt with another one that is there as well...)

This is a self-guided tour preserve so pick up a map at the shelter and set off on the trail. Visit the numbered posts to learn about and see the geologic history of this region.

This letterbox is on Round Top Loop trail.

Were the Celts here!?!
At a post marker near the old volcano you can look down into a quarry. Off to the left you’ll see a sacred symbol. Hike down to explore it if you wish, but return to the trail to reach your prize.

Continue on the trail until you see the lone pine sentries who flank both sides of the trail. Go to the one on the south side of the trail. What you seek is at its base.
