The Museum of Anthropology is located on UBC campus a little south and west of downtown Vancouver. After visiting the museum head outdoors to find trail 4 which will take you to the ocean shore. This stretch of shoreline is known as Wreck Beach and is a popular spot with nudists. Depending on your viewpoint you may wish to avoid this letterbox completely. Or you may visit in the winter when nudists will be absent or well disguised in their down jackets or rain gear. Or you may decide to make letterboxing history and be the first person, ever, to go boxing in the nude! Whichever option you choose, please be advised the stamp reflects Wreck Beach’s claim to fame and may not be suitable for your children. Also please be advised that I did not model for the image, nor did any family members model for the stamp image. Further be advised that trail 4 takes you down almost 400 steps and that if you decide to box in the nude you need to be especially careful around the prickly shrubbery.
Clues:
1. Go down the steps to the beach.
2. Optional: remove your clothing.
3. Turn right walking northward. Climb over the boulder and log jam.
4. Note the clearing on your right and locate the trail which skirts the bottom of the cliff, just past some prickly bushes.
4. Follow this trail a few steps, go left - north. You will come to a long large log* blocking your way. It will be pointing SW to a stand of trees. Locate the most easterly one, standing alone and leaning to the left. The LB is hidden at the base. Please rehide with rocks so that the box will not be carried away in the regular washouts. *Log may not be present depending on surf action.
The beach is patrolled and groomed regularly - be discreet. If you visit in the summer nudism is appreciated, gawking is not.
