You must locate the very first memorial Redwood Grove established in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. This grove was dedicated to a military man in 1921. If you see the marker HUM 10.83 you are close.
Start at the boulder and count 10 paces to a Knobby Giant. Pass the Knobby Giant on it's right and look to a trail roughly 15 paces away toward the water. Walk toward the water and look for a large, half-buried log on your right. If you see a small maple between two Giants you're in the right area.
Look inside the hollowed half-log; the box is wedged inside it to the right concealed with bark and leaves.
***Please respect the incredible Redwoods and their environment! The fairies will curse you for defiling their natural habtat! Always remember to be discreet and re-hide better than you found it!
