Letterbox is placed in Big Hill Springs Park.

Take Highway 1A to Lochend Rd (secondary Highway 766)

From Calgary take Crowchild Tr (Crowchild turns into Highway 1A). Drive 8.5 km from the intersection of Stoney Tr and Crowchild Tr.

Turn right(north) on Lochend Rd (secondary highway 766). Drive for 11 km.

Turn left(west) on Big Hill Springs Road (secondary highway 567). Drive for 4 km.

Turn left(south) on Big Hill Springs Trail. Drive for 2 km.

Road continues into parking lot. Park. Walk back towards entrance to parking lot and go through picnic area. Walking trail starts at far end of picnic area.

Continue on trail until you go up first set of wooden stairs. Once up stairs continue up path for approx 40 ft to the first downed tree on the left side of path.

Letterbox is placed under log near stump.

please replace every thing as you have found it.

When found please email us to let us know at i_sweetie@shaw.ca. please let us know the condition of the box as well as any other comments you may have.

We have placed the letterbox at the begining of the trail so that all can participate in it. The trail continues up hill for quite a while before it goes downhill. I am usure of the elevation change and there is no trailhead sign to tell us. We were able to do the walk in under an hour with three children the youngest of which is 5 and a senior citizen.

As you drive here you will be treated to lots of prarie farmland, continue on to this hidden gem. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Dogs are permitted on a leash. There is an outhouse in the parking lot. No open pit fires allowed but cooking on a propane barbeque or stove is permitted.
