This box is missing 12/2/2010

This is an easy trail, paved and handicap accessible. The trailhead is at the south side of the Rogers High School parking lot at 2300 S. Dixieland Road.
Enter the parking lot and take the left loop. The trail is marked with a sign and begins by crossing a bridge. Keep on the main trail which curves around to the right (the left branch crosses another bridge and goes back to Dixieland.) Cross another bridge and go past the Quail and Bird Habitat. There is a bench here if you want to do some birdwatching. Just past the habitat, the trail re-enters the woods. About 50 steps further on there is a one mile marker on the right. Count 12 steps past the marker. On the left (south side) is a forest matriarch very near the the trail. Follow the line of her old injury down to her feet. The box is hidden underneath her big toe. This space existed naturally.
This can be a high use trail so watch for other walkers/bikers. You may want to take the box back to the bench at the quail habitat, or ahead just around the bend there is a another bridge with a bench on the other side. When you replace it, be sure to use some heavier cover (sticks) since leaves alone will blow away.
