Location: Temple Park, Prince George County VA. Approximately 40 - 45 miles south of Richmond.
Degree of Difficutly: Easy
Supplies Needed: Bug Repellant, good walking shoes.
PURCHASED STAMP
Directions:
Local--From the intersection of Hwy 460 E and Hwy 156, travel west on 156 for approximately 3.8 miles. The park will be on your left.
From the north--I-95 to Petersburg and take the 460 East exit. Go approximatley 8 - 10 miles to the intersection with Hwy 156. Then follow above directions.
On entering the park, park near the large picnic pavilion.
From the large pavilion, look to the southwest and locate a small wooden bridge and cross it into the woods.
At the fork, bear left.
Continue straight, ignoring a path to the right.
Leave the main path and take the smaller path to the left. At the T, turn left.
Shortly, you will come to a long wooden bridge. The box is concealed under the right edge of the bridge just before the first tree.
The shortest way back is to continue across the bridge and take the first path to the left. This will take you back to the pavilion.
If you choose to continue straight, you will soon emerge from the woods into a playing field. Follow the tree line to the left and you will soon see the pavilion to your left.
Total distance: Less than one half mile.
