Directions:
From the North: Take Route 9 to Greenport, NY. Veer right onto Joslen Blvd., and follow straight for 1.2 miles. Turn right onto Daisy Hill Road at the sign for the Conservation Area. Continue on Daisy Hill Road until it ends. You will see a parking area and information kiosk.
From the South: Take Route 9 to Greenport, NY. Pass Healy Blvd. Turn left at the second light onto Joslen Blvd., and proceed for 0.9 miles. Turn left onto Daisy Hill Road at the sign for the Conservation Area. Continue on Daisy Hill Road until it ends. You will see a parking area and information kiosk.
Clues:
Check out the grounds, enjoy the butterflies, watch a sunset, watch the boats on the river.
bullet To find the box, find the crescent shaped bench with the best view of the tracks and river. Sit yourself right in the center. Now, turn and look way back over your left shoulder. You'll see a great big tree. On closer inspection around that tree you'll find plenty of Piglet's favorite food (also helpful for making angels using pinecones for bodies and milkweed pods for wings - plenty of milkweed on this walk too). Look for what you seek at the base of the tree, on the far side from where you were sitting.
OK, so the rail line you see wasn't part of the Albany Southern Line the stamp is made for, but I like the history of the local rail lines since I grew up around here and my grandparents rode on them.
