The Nutty Letterbox is located in Rattlesnake Point, a beautiful conservation area located just North of Burlington, Ontario. Visit http://www.conservationhalton.on.ca/ShowCategory.cfm?subCatID=1091 for information, maps and directions.
Entrance Fees to the Park are as follows:
Adult (15-64) $4.50
Child (5-14) $3.00
Child (4 & under)* No charge
Senior (65 & over with valid senior ID) $3.50
To get to this letterbox you must go across some rough terrain and up and down over some small hills. The cliffs can be hazardous and are slippery when wet. Please be careful.
The entrance to the park is off of Appleby Line just north of Derry Road. Park in the Upper Parking Lot and proceed to the trail entrance.
Go to the Trafalgar Lookout and enjoy the views of the Niagara Escarpment, Burlington and Lake Ontario.
Follow the rock wall east until a tall thin tree in your path lets you know you are on the right track.
Stay on the path as it curves North away from the wall, past a crevasse in the rocks.
The path now curves East again and you know you are almost there.
When the path spreads out in many directions turn right, towards the cliff side (be careful, the leaves will be slippery if wet).
Head back to the end of the rock wall and go down a few natural stone steps to the front of the wall.
In the first section of the wall there is a piece of stone that juts out. Directly underneath this stone lies the Nutty Letterbox.
Record your visit and place back in its hiding place.
Some times of year there are a lot of visitors to this park. Please be discrete.
