Rockway Conservation Area has an entrance area that seems to be a well-kept secret. You're about to be let in on the secret! It is about a mile from the Rockway Glen Golf Course and Winery. The conservation area is along the Niagara Escarpment, which is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. The Bruce Trail runs through the conservation area.

Directions: From the QEW, exit at 7th street and head west (away from the lake). Continue until road ends at St. Paul West and turn right. Go through the valley and take the first left onto 9th street. You'll pass the Rockway Glen Golf Course on your right. At the end of 9th street (Presbyterian church will be straight ahead) take a left. After a curve, you will see the Rockway Community Center on your left. Park here. The trail leading to the letterbox are at the back of the parking lot, but take time to overlook the view at the trail at the front/left of the Center.

Clues:
There will be two trails behind the building. It doesn't matter which you take, they soon connect back up. The one to the left has amazing overlooks and views. Warning - there are steep and dangerous drops at this point. Take either trail and continue where they merge. Where the paths later divide, go to the right, following the black/white trail markers. Go slightly down hill, over the rocky area, and continue on trail. When you reach an "intersection," you'll see black/white as well as blue trail markers. There will be a sign on a tree to your left, which says, "Rockway Falls." Turn left here. Take about 60 steps, until your see a tall, thin tree on your left with a medium size, moss-covered rock next to it. Take about 10 baby steps up to the rock. Move the long, narrow rock away from behind it, to find the letterbox! After stamping, hide everything away and put the rock back in place.
You can follow the signs to stay on the trail and do the loop (supposedly 2. 7 km) or retrace your steps.
