From the Epsom traffic circle, go about two miles on Route 4 East to New Orchard road. This will be your left after the old Town hall.
Take your first dirt road on the right, Range road.
Continue up Range road to the last house on the left, park off the road beyond that house.
Walk up the road past a small clearing on right, continue until you see ledge in the road.
Once your reach the ledge in the road, take an immediate left down a rocky trail.
Trail will climb up hills, level out and take you through puddles that look like you may have to swim. Just skirt around puddles off trail a few feet.
This little trail will probably take you about 40 minutes to walk and you will eventually come out to Locke Hill road at a T intersection.
Once you reach the T intersection, cross Locke Hill road and directly to your right will be a huge pine with three trunks. Your destination is hidden in the middle of the trunk of that tree.
For a shorter hike, find Locke Hill road, 2nd road off New Orchard road to the right, climb hill and park your car after the last house on left, walk down the trail until you see the first intersection of trail and Locke Hill road. You will find the tree on your left.
Remember to bring your bug juice, use caution during hunting season and be careful of the barbed wire at the base of the pine.
Good Luck
