This is one in a series of boxes planted in the state game lands of northeastern Pennsylvania. If you seek this box, please be aware of hunting seasons. I recommend wearing blaze orange any time of year. I don't recommend seeking this box during deer season, except on Sundays.
State Game Lands 106 is located in Berks, Lehigh, and Schuylkill Counties. You will actually begin your hunt for the box at the Visitor Center of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Parking is free, and trail fee is charged only for hiking to the lookouts. Since you're hiking in a different direction, no need to pay. (Honest.) Unless of course, you want to check out the lookouts while you're there! They're fantastic. Park in one of the main lots.
Clues:
* From the visitor center, find the amphitheatre and its huge metal hawk. Continue south past the picnic area. Honestly, don't worry about the permits mentioned on the trail.
* You'll soon come to a woods road. Continue straight up the hill.
* At the top of the hill, the road passes a clearing on the left. Shortly you'll enter State Game Lands through the gate.
* You'll come to a signed crossroads. Follow the sign pointing to the Fire Tower.
* Just past a bog (Monk's?) on the left, come to a gully with a V-tree on either side. (Both V-trees are on the right side of the road you're on.)
* 30 paces past the gully, spot a dinosaur-SPOR tree growing out of a mound on the right.
* From the dinosaur tree, head due east 30 paces to a Y-tree. SPOR (suspicious pile of rocks) at base.
Please rehide well.
