Directions: Look for the Lawrence Lewis Jr. Park on Wilcox Wharf Rd. off Rt. 5. Go all the way in to the second parking area by the river.
Clues: We thought it would be appropriate to plant the “Spring is Here” box because we had come down from the cold north in search of warmer weather. We had found it the day before when it was in the upper 80s. This day, however, was pretty cool and windy but we went for it anyway.
Take the bridge between the wetlands and “I’d rather be fishing” and go up the stairs. Go up a bit more on the sort-of trail to two pairs of trees. Take the trail to the right to another double. Stand at its side and look down at the swamp with the river to your back. Take 6 steps toward the swamp. Look west. There’s a stump with a tree growing out of it. Bushwhack your way over there (or go around). Look under the root to the right.
