This letterbox is meant to commemorate a backpack gathering of friends during the full moon. The hike in is a little over two miles from the Frog Lake Sno Park area off Highway 26 on Mt. Hood. Walk North on the Pacific Crest Trail about a mile and a half to the junction for Twin Lakes. Take a right and head downhill to Lower Twin Lake.
At the western edge of the large lake shore backpack camping area you will find a grand silver stump beside the lake. A bit further there’s a less used trail heading uphill to the Twin Lakes trail. Just as you start up this steep trail, there is a long fallen tree pointing uphill. Where wood meets rock, the Full Moon awaits.
