THIS BOX HAS GONE MISSING, BUT I PLAN TO "RESTASH" IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. STAY TUNED... 08/08/09

This is the first of seven stashes (or is it 'staches?) hidden in uptown Waterloo. The boxes are placed such that you could do all seven in an afternoon, if you park at Uptown Waterloo Square and walk or bike to each location. For this particular clue, there is also parking available behind the building that is your starting point. These boxes are hidden in fairly visible areas, so please use great stealth in retrieving/replacing them. Have fun!

To find your starting point, you must answer the following riddle: Where are a thousand stories told without ever speaking a word?

Go to this place (there is parking behind the building) and face the entrance that opens onto a street with the first name of a famous German scientist. Note the address number for this building (you'll need to walk right up to the doors). Now, turn 180 degrees around and walk across not only that particular street but also the next one running more-or-less parallel to it. Look for and walk toward a building full of pins, then turn right and follow the road it's on. Go past the woman on the right who shares the same last name as a famous spy. At the intersection, turn right.

Walk past the 47 where the stars are shining. Look across the street to the left for a corner where heroes can be found. Cross the street toward them, then turn right and continue walking down the royal road. Look for the Broadway lights overhead, then turn left and walk down the alleyway just to their right. Take the same number of steps as the address number for the building you started at. What you seek is behind the tree straight ahead, buried under a few rocks.
