This is either a quick park and grab or a wonderful hike with a happy ending. Start by taking the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Bowen Island. We highly recommend that you walk on the ferry rather than take your car.
After disembarking from the ferry, hike the trails through Crippen Regional Park to Killarney Lake. This is approximately a 1.6 km hike through fields and forest, on mostly level well tended terrain.
Make your way to the picnic area at Killarney Lake. If you're in a car and want to make this a quick find, you can drive right to this point. Immediately to the west of the dam at the southern end of the lake is a rock outcropping that leads to the waterline.
From the main trail near this outcropping there is a secondary trail leading down to the dam. About 2 metres from the intersection of the main trail and this secondary trail, on the south side of the trail, there is a moss-covered log beneath which is hidden the letterbox.
Note that this is a hybrid letterbox/geocache.
