The Green Fairy Flies to Panthorn Park

The Green Fairy is flying all across Connecticut to visit her friends.
Today she visited Panthorn Park to visit the Orange Beetle. When you find the Orange Beetle’s house, there will be a letterbox as well as some fairy dust to sprinkle! Good luck!

This hike is relatively easy, some obstacles, lots of wooden bridges. Bring bug spray!

• As you enter the park, park in the lot on the left just after the pond.
• Walk through the grass and cross over the wooden bridge
• After the bridge, take the trail to your right with a small yellow pole.
• Cross over a small wooden bridge.
• Pass Yellow Pole #2
• At fork, take a left toward the picnic tables.
• When you pass the tables, take the trail to the right onto the gravel path, passing Yellow Pole #5.
• Pass Yellow Pole #6, 7, and 8.
• Cross another small wooden bridge.
• Pass Yellow Pole #10 and 12.
• Continue onto a long wooden bridge.
• When you exit the bridge, pass Yellow Pole #14,15, and 16.
• Take the wooden steps to the left just before the next wooden bridge.
• Follow the path up a hill into a meadow, then back down and into the woods.
• At the fork, stay straight, do not take the left path.
• Follow the trail keeping the stream on your right.
• Take another set of wooden steps up and follow them back down keeping straight on the path.
• Follow the path as it curves to the left where the stream forms a series of small waterfalls.
• At the next fork, stay straight, keeping the stream on your right.
• Go over a small 2 plank bridge.
• Go over another small 2 plank bridge.
• Go over a long 2 plank path crossing over a wooden bridge with rails.
• Stop at the end of the railed bridge.
• Take 4 paces continuing on the path (a pace = 2 steps)
• On your right there will be a dead tree stump with leaves and twigs covering an opening on top.
• Look inside the dead tree stump to find what the Green Fairy left!

To return home, turn around and follow the path back. If you continue forward, the path will eventually come to a dead end in all directions.
