(there may not be a sign to indicate Christian Hill Road, but Long Pond Rd is to the right and marked). Follow Christian Hill Road for approximately 1 mile and turn right onto Lake Mansfield Road. This is a narrow road which can have quite a bit of foot traffic in the summer months. Please drive carefully. A short distance down the road, about ½ mile, you will see Lake Mansfield on your right with a small parking lot directly across the street on your left. Park in this lot.
From the North take Rt. 7 South through Stockbridge turning left at the Red Lion Inn. Continue on Rt. 7 South past Monument Mountain Regional High School on the left and Monument Mountain on the right. About ½ way down the mountain there will be a sign for Rte 183 (Old Stockbridge Rd). Take this short, cut off road and bear right onto Rte 183 North. Take your first left onto Division Street. Follow Division Street going straight at the flashing red light. At the top of the hill is a flashing yellow light. Turn left onto Christian Hill Rd. (there may not be a sign to indicate Christian Hill Road, but Long Pond Rd is to the right and marked). Follow Christian Hill Road for approximately 1 mile and turn right onto Lake Mansfield Road. From the south follow Rte 7 North into the town of Great Barrington. Go past the Big Y on your left, The Gt. Barrington Police Station on your right and Maple Ave. on your left. Turn left onto Taconic Avenue at the CVS Pharmacy. Go under the train trestle and bear right on Castle Street as you go up the hill, it becomes Castle Hill. Stay on Castle Hill until you come to a stop sign. Take a right at the stop sign which is Hollenbeck Avenue. Hollenbeck leads you right to the Lake Mansfield Road. Lake Mansfield road is narrow and winding please be cautious of pedestrians. Parking will be on your right across from the beach area.
At the back of the lot you will see a sign for Mansfield Park. Enter at the sign and follow the path into the woods for approximately ¼ mile. You know you will be getting close when you begin to see the sides of the path lined with larger stones. On your right is a path marked by two larger stones on either side. Take this path into the woods a short distance. On your left will be a large boulder right next to the hiking path. The box is located on the back side of this boulder hidden partially underneath and covered with leaves and sticks. Please carefully cover the box well again.
