Have to archive this box. Went by 4/13/0 to find hardly a trail, no box and lots of beaver activity. So it will NOT be replanted. EVER. I will never put a box in Mills Pond Park again. 2 boxes went missing, 4 tries for this one, not worth it. Sorry if you never got it.
To begin the new year right the first thing I did was plant a new box. However, the idea came from my son, who claims he wants nothing to do with boxing. He came up with the name and the image (part of the sculpture. So, here's one for Tim!
From Rt 44 in Canton head south on East Hill Rd to Mills Pond Park. Once in the park find the Canton Gateway sculpture near the entrance. It's the only one so it shouldn't be hard to spot. On the north side of the sculpture is the Artistic Dog Poo. Ok I'm sure the sculptor didn't call it that, but do you have a better name for it??
Once you have located the Poo, head out of the Park, turning right at the street. Walking past the Peace Pole, turn right at Symonds Ave (or Simonds, it depends on which part of the street you're on). When you reach Millenium Field head in toward Field 2. Walk along the fence line to the left. You will find a small trail into the woods to the North of the corner post. BE PREPARED FOR MUDDY FEET. At the fork in the trail stay left along the pond. I saw a beaver there today (10/22/07) and many ducks. Take 14 paces. Stop. Check 30* and maybe 4-5 steps is a maple tree with a triangle hole at the bottom. There you will find the poo. Recover well; I have no idea how long this will last here-it's the 3rd hiding spot.
If you have any trouble at the box let me know and I'll try for a 4th spot!
Happy Boxing.
