Walking distance: about 1.5 miles one way.
Trail difficulty: fairly easy, the path is dirt and rocky in parts but fairly flat.
The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Rainbow Bridge National Monument in south-central Utah. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks, national monuments, and other sites administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp.
You generally need to use a boat, rental, tour boat or private, to go across Lake Powell to visit the Monument. A courtesy dock is available at the Monument for short-term boat docking.
After arriving at the boat dock in the Monument, look for a group of colorful interpretive signs on or near the dock. Go to the sign titled “Rainbow Bridge Geology”. In the paragraph on the left (starts with the words “Rainbow Bridge was once…”), in the 4th line, what is the 2nd word?
Now, start walking up the trail to the Rainbow Bridge. Look for a brown sign along the trail with text that starts with the words “To Native American Tribes…”. In the 2nd line, what is the last word?
To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word (all letters lower case) into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):
http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html
Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Rainbow Bridge Monument Webbox.
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
