As I was growing up I played recreational soccer in Kaysville, this field used to have goal posts on it and was more often than not the field that we would play our games on. We played through all conditions, rainstorms and snowstorms just having a blast, at least until the referee would call the game due to the weather or the field being too wet.

Long gone memories aside, this letterbox is also here for a far more important and recent memory. When my wife and I were still dating, being secretive so our parents wouldn't know, we came to this park and found an abandoned soccer ball. We started kicking it around, having fun, when all of the sudden it started pouring. Instead of packing it in and running to the car we stayed, played, and had a blast. We wanted to commemorate that special memory with this stamp and hope that you enjoy my first attempt at carving a stamp and planting a letterbox.

Barton Ponds Park
23 East Center Street, Kaysville, UT 84037

This is the way that I get to the park.

To get to Barton Ponds Park take the Kaysville exit or exit number 328 and head east to main street. Once to main street head right (south) until you hit the light at 50 west, veer right and follow that road for about 1.5 miles. Park in the north part of the park the first parking lot (the one closest to the playground).

Clue:
From the Playground head south west to the fence, running north to south. Walk south along the fence passing seven large trees within arms reach of the fence. The eighth tree will be the last within reach of the fence and have a large hole in the south side of the tree, where a branch used to grow. In the west side of the hole, under several large pieces of bark, you will find my first hand-carved stamp.

Hike length: 0.1 miles
